About Joy of Urdu
Joy of Urdu is a bilingual organization that aims to facilitate and enable the ongoing revitalization of the Urdu language, in order to reclaim our literary heritage.
The Joy of Urdu Reading Group (JOU-RG) initiative is aimed at creating a space for beginners, and even advanced readers to start (or get back to) reading Urdu. We have Joy of Urdu Reading Groups in different cities in Pakistan and around the world, led by a team of dedicated volunteers who coordinate the meetings with reading guides/ leaders who lead the discussion, and where necessary, read along for the group.
Lovers of Urdu, of all levels of proficiency, are welcome. The aim of all JOU events is to encourage you to embrace Urdu, to ask questions, to improve your knowledge of Urdu and be able to understand and enjoy its vast and varied literature.
Participation fee: PKR 200 for non-members; FREE for members
