Description
21 March is World Down Syndrome Day. To mark this day and raise awareness, we are hosting an art exhibition by Syeda Alishba titled Mes Rêves, Mon Monde: My Dreams, My World on 22 March 2018.
Syeda Alishba is a 17-year old girl with Down Syndrome. She is an artist and a painter. She has been expressing her feelings and observations through the use of acrylics, soft pastel and charcoal from very a very young age. We are pleased to showcase her work and share Alishba's message that “ if you have potential, no disability can stop you”.
Alishba is a very active girl. She is an active student, learning new languages like French, making art, and enjoying her life. Recently, UN Women Pakistan acknowledged her efforts and shared her story. In the future, Alishba wants to run her own art studio and work for girls with disabilities. We hope this exhibition will be the first step towards her dream and we look forward to your support and presence.
This exhibition also aims to give strength to people with any kind of disability and raise awareness about the need for an inclusive society where everyone has right to live, get education and utilize their potential without any barrier.
